ARREST MADE IN WICKENBURG MURDER CASE
On February 15, 2011, Rau was charged with first degree murder, kidnapping and robbery in connection with Patel’s death. The investigation still is on-going. The current investigation has involved the Wickenburg Police Department, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s office and the DPS crime lab.

The
Wickenburg Police Department has made an arrest in the recent murder
case. On December 20, 2010, Bryan Matthew Rau was taken into
custody for possessing property stolen from the Westerner Motel, the
residence of homicide victim Varsha Patel. Since then, additional
physical evidence has linked Rau to the homicide.
