ANNEXATION PAINS

Yavapai County,: Higher density, brought about by annexation, will result in higher taxes for those who live now, under only County government and most likely for current tax payers of Wickenburg. The assumption of economies of scale (less cost with greater numbers) does not apply when you have the Public Sector (government) involved with economic decisions.

Infra-structure never gets completed or paid for. You pay t'ill you die and even afterwards through your estate. Death doesn't let you off the hook for taxes.

Currently Wickenburg is short on money to finish the alley project. Looks pretty ugly now. How would they manage a larger area? Our police force is still short staffed. The drug problem continues to grow.

You make decisions based on dollar value. What you receive is based on what you pay for. If the value is not there, you do not buy it. The Government makes decisions based on political interests, not necessarily on dollar value or quality of life. Who is best able to spend your own money? You or some one else?

Wickenburg's annexation effort can be dissected by following the money. Who or what organization will financially benefit from their planned annexation? Look at what developers are involved with the planned annexation and how much money will they gain when the City of Wickenburg assumes costs, that they would other wise be responsible for. Ask your City Councilman for the names of the Developers involved and what will be Wickenburg's cost for each project? The bottom line is the desire by the Developers to transfer costs to the tax payers.

Profit is good, but the desire for excessive profit by a few can result in ruining the Wickenburg Lifestyle.

Annexation is not inevitable. Fifty one percent of the property owners have to vote for it. "JUST SAY NO" Nancy Regan 1985
