Fatality on Highway 93, North of Wickenburg

Wickenburg, AZ:(3/8/08)  Friday morning at 9:20 a.m. there was a head-on fatal collision involving two vehicles on U.S. 93 at milepost 186 involving a semi truck carrying copper concentrate. Both lanes were blocked at that location as a Hazardous Materials team worked to secure the scene. The location was US93 at mile post 189 (north of Wickenburg). 

A white Volkswagen van operated by James Massell, age 56 of Bellingham, WA, crossed the center line and collided head on with a white 2007 Mack tractor- trailer.  Mr. Wassell was deceased at the scene of the collision.  The truck was operated by William Oldfather, age 48 of Tempe, AZ.  Mr Oldfather was not injured.  A white 2003 Toyota passenger car then struck the rear of the van.  The Toyota was operated by Jennifer Kramer, age 25 of Phoenix.  Ms. Kramer was not injured.
